Evaluations

No one evaluation is the same. I pride myself on my individual approach to each evaluation, resulting in a comprehensive picture of your child's strengths and weaknesses. Evaluations are completed in a timely manner and you will receive a full write-up within a week after testing has been completed. The length of testing time will vary, depending on the type of evaluation being completed. Please see below for more detailed information.

Full Speech and Language Evaluation

Does your child have difficulty with sounds, as well as understanding/expressing themselves? This is the evaluation for you. The most comprehensive evaluation which will assess speech sounds, overall intelligibility (i.e. ability to be understood), language comprehension, sentence construction, grammar, etc.

If you are only concerned about one particular thing, I will make sure to place special emphasis on this area. However, in my experience it is often difficult for parents to pinpoint the specific problem, which is why every evaluation is comprehensive in nature.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Evaluation

Do you need a high-tech AAC device evaluation from an SLP to get funding through insurance? This evaluation will vary depending upon what exactly is needed.

I can provide AAC consultation to discuss which type of options might be right for your child. However, to complete an evaluation, you will need a physical loaner of the device in order for me to complete an evaluation. Obtaining a loaner device is not always intuitive and sometimes requires a bit of guidance. I can also help walk you through the funding process and submit on your behalf if desired..
